Priorities, Goals, and To Do Lists

Okay...here's the deal! In January I am joining a challenge being led by Chalene Johnson, my mentor, to focus on setting goals and making to do lists. Here is a little bit more info on the challenge:

The first week ...of January I will send to anyone who takes the challenge the rules and the tools!

First, I will create a quick video explaining how we will use several free resources to keep us on track (like to-do list apps, and a few forms that i use and will give you access to download). I will share with you my exact to-do list, the form I use to keep it and the super quick system that I personally follow to stay organized.

I will also give you the forms I use to develop my priorities and goals at the beginning of each new year!

This is an accountability group! No strings attached... Well.. just one! You will be asked to make a daily to-do list for 21 days and log in to "prove" that you made yours! But don't worry...I'm going to show you how to make one and master it in under 10 minutes a day.

Look...I've been preaching about this stuff for 15 years. I realize from your comments and feedback that people know they need to be more organized they just don't know where to start or how to keep themselves accountable.

I'll explain in detail how I organize and balance my responsibilities between work and family and share with your the system I use to create and then obtain my top 10 goals for the year.

I'll send a facebook email as soon as I have all the "rules" for our 30Day Challenge put together (just came up with this today)! (BE ON THE LOOK-OUT!)

Studies show that when you involve a loved one or friend in your efforts to keep yourself accountable, you have greater success. It's true! So pass this on to your significant other, your co-workers, your team or the people who you know will actually kick your butt and help keep you on track!

NO matter what your goals are, financial, spiritual, family, business or fitness...when you use a system of accountability your only option is success!

Talk to you soon!

Pass it on!

Chalene

What coaching is really about...

I've been hearing from frustrations from many coaches lately about the difficulties of signing new coaches, even with the free coach sign-up. I figured my blog would be a great place to address them. I of all people know how hard it is to sign new coaches. The business goes in spurts for me. There are some points in time where I'll be signing two coaches a week, and then I can go a few weeks without signing any coaches at all. This month is a tough time to sign coaches because everyone is just so busy in December. I have a few tips on how I go about it, and I hope it helps!!!

  1. If you're talking to someone and they just don't seem interested in coaching move one. Larry Zimberg says, "Instead of talking to the same 20 people five times, talk to 100 new people." Some people just aren't ready to be a coach, and that's just fine. Work with the willing.
  2. If you have talked to all your friends and family already that's okay, meet new people and make new friends. I do talk to my friends and family, but I also really really concentrate on meeting new people with the same interests as me online...Facebook, Twitter, MySpace...they all work. Don't just pitch them the business...get to know them on a personal level.
  3. Be a product of the product. Maybe you don't think you've lost enough weight yet to sign new coaches. If you feel that way, other people will sense that and feel it too. If you started this business to be accountable to your own weight loss, tell people that! Tell them, "I'm really doing this business to work on myself. Why don't you join me?" Maybe you don't pitch them the coaching "opportunity"...pitch it as a way to get a great discount on products that will really help them get fit and healthy. Talk them into being your accountability partner.
  4. If someone doesn't want to join you team, don't take it personal. I get many "no's," and I know that they're saying "no" to the business, not me. If they're not interested, I don't really care. Then I need to find someone new to replace them on my list.
  5. If they seemed interested at one point, and then decided they weren't interested keep them as a friend on Facebook. As you succeed (in your business or your own weight loss), they will come back and talk to you. People want to be involved with people that are successful.
  6. The most important thing is to stay positive!!! If you are posting negative things on facebook or replying to other people's posts in a negative manner, people will see it. Would you want to join someone's team if they are always putting themselves or others down. Let's stay positive, and concentrate on changing people's lives instead of concentrating on signing coaches and making money. I haven't signed a new coach in almost two weeks, but I know that I am having an impact on my current coaches, customers, and friends. By running fitness challenges and giving people positive fitness advice, you are truly making a difference.
I hope this has been helpful to my frustrated coaches, or my friends that are considering doing this business. It is true that this business has ups and downs, but if you can stick with it you will find success. I have failed at a dozen Network Marketing opportunities in the past...Team Beachbody is the only one I've been successful at. It is challenging and takes a lot of work, but the rewards are what keeps me doing it. I love helping people be successful in their business, as well as their fitness. Helping people is why I do this business, and I'm hoping that by this summer I will be working in fitness full-time. There is no bigger high for me than hearing how the people in my fitness challenge are loosing weight, exercising, and eating clean. I love what I'm doing, and I just want people to realize how amazing this business is...even with all he frustrations and challenges.

If you are willing to help other people get fit and healthy...join my team! There are 16 more days of free coach sign-up, so you need to take action soon! Do you just want to be a coach for the 25% off discount and the fitness aspect of it? If that's what you want make sure you sign-up and order your new fitness program by December 21st so you get started on your fitness January 1st.

I am still giving that free bag of Chocolate Shakeology away to someone who signs up on my team before the end of the year. Also, don't forget about this week's Virtual Home Parties! Tonight (Thursday) at 8pm CST and Sunday at 7pm CST. Be sure that you register at http://my.dimdim.com/eringettingfit. It's been a long time!

It's been a really long time since I last blogged. I know I have talked a lot on my facebook page about being in a "funk" lately, but I think I'm finally out of it. I had some good things happen in my life these past few days that have helped to pull me out of my "low," as some people would call it. Especially for someone who suffers from depression. I do have a pretty big decision to make in the next week, but after having the support I needed from a few special friends I feel much better.

I might as well say it...a huge career change just might be in the horizon. Tomorrow I have a meeting/interview at the Elkhorn Curves for Women. There is talk of starting Curves Circuit with Zumba Fitness in January. There is also another nearby Curves club that is interested in starting around the same time. This is a huge opportunity for me...since I do want to eventually work full-time in fitness. Luckily I'm already a certified Zumba instructor, so it would be an easy transition.

Since becoming a Beachbody coach almost six months ago, I set an ultimate goal of "firing" my boss and doing fitness and Beachbody full-time. If I could reach this goal by next month, I would be eternally grateful. I know what everyone's thinking...what about your social work job? Well...I don't have any answers right now and I probably won't have many more answers tomorrow night after my meeting. I am just hoping that after my meeting tomorrow things will be clearer, and I will know what to do. I know that I can count on my family, friends, and Beachbody family to make this decision.

I am just so happy that all my dreams are coming true, and I'm providing for my son. If buying a house has to get postponed another year so I can pursue my dreams that will be okay by me. Shouldn't I be striving to reach those goals instead of being "okay" with being mediocre? Hmm...some things to think about......

Getting..."personal"

I'm typically a very private person, and don't often share a lot about myself personally. I decided that I need to connect more with my "friends" on Facebook, and try to show how very "real" I am. Well...time for a little personal disclosure!!! :)

I am a 30-year-old single mother of one little boy, my 4-year-old son Jake. He is my world, and everything I have accomplished in my life has been (mostly) for him. I am as single as they get, and plan on keeping it that way for awhile. I do have my Bachelor's and  Master's in Social Work, and currently work for the State of Wisconsin doing Initial Assessments for child protection. It is a very stressful job, but I use fitness and Beachbody as my stress-relief!

I have some past issues with anxiety and depression, but my exercise regime keeps me positive, focused, and off medication. I have many aspirations for my life that include personal training, teaching fitness classes, and being a foster parent to children that have been abused and neglected. I love my job in child protection, but I don't plan on doing it forever. I hope to be able to quit my full-time job and do fitness full-time in the next few years.

I also hope to soon own my own home that has room for my horses. I have ridden horses for the past 23 years, owned horses for the past 20 years, and have trained Arabians in Arizona for a whole year. My love for animals and children is my livelihood, and I plan on surrounding myself with both for the rest of my life.

A lot of who I am is my Beachbody business. To me, the business is not about making money! It's about helping people get physically fit, inspiring people to make healthy choices, and helping my team to be successful at the business. I make pretty good money doing it, but I also invest a lot of time and money helping others to be successful doing this business. If I can be successful, ANYONE can! I honestly do care about my coaches, my customers, and my friends...I am a "helper" by nature which is what makes every aspect of my everyday life enjoyable and fulfilling!!!

3-Day Shakeology Cleanse

SHAKEOLOGY 3-DAY CLEANSE:

Shakeology is a meal replacement shake designed to be enjoyed every day, one meal a day. But for this cleanse, it will be used three times a day for three days.

Here's a quick clip about Shakeology: Click Here And see what doctors are saying about this! ~

The Shakeology Cleanse is meant to jump start you in your fitness, break a plateau or shred pounds fast & effectively in a healthy way. The key is caloric efficiency; getting the most nutrients possible out of the fewest number of calories. It’s too fat restrictive for a lifestyle plan, but perfect for a three day jump-start to looking and feeling better.

This can help you become healthier from the inside out. Internal health is the foundation to external beauty.

People are getting fantastic results ~ Lose weight, feel great!I personally just lost 8 pounds and 9 inches in just 3 days!

IMPORTANT: This is to jump-start your health and weight loss goals... so PLEASE DO NOT PIG OUT after you do this! Transition from here into a healthy eating plan to continue your success. After this cleanse, it's recommended to continue replacing one meal a day with Shakeology.

The basics are as follows:

3 SHAKEOLOGY Shakes a day (blended with water and ice) 1 piece of fruit a day (Apple, pear, orange, banana, mango, etc) 1 salad for dinner (lettuce, veggies, lean protein) - 4 oz lean protein in salad (WHITE poultry or fish) - Only Low Fat Dressings.

NO: Dairy (no almond, soy, or rice milk) or extra sugars. If it’s not on the list, don’t eat it!

Sample Menu (Repeat all three days):

BREAKFAST: Shakeology - 1 scoop, blended with ice & 8-10 oz of water Optional: ½ cup of fruit (only for the super conditioned – not the weight challenged)

SNACK: 1 piece of fruit

Being thankful...

I know it's technically not Thanksgiving anymore, but I still wanted to talk about what I'm thankful for. My life four years ago was in turmoil, and I am eternally grateful for a lot of the choices I made. Here are a few highlights of the many things I'm thankful for...

  1. My son - Jake is my world, and I am thankful everyday to have him in my life. Being a single mother is hard, but he is definitely worth it!!! When people ask you what you would change in your life, I would never change the fact that I have him. He is the best think in my life, and for that...I'm so thankful.
  2. My parents and brother - I have the most supportive family, and the best brother I could ever ask for. My parents supported me when I was at my low...going through some really tough stuff. They help me so much with Jake, and give me unconditional love. I couldn't ask for a better support system.
  3. My friends - I have wonderful friends that I'm so thankful for. I have my high school friends, my college friends, my grad school friends, my co-workers, and my Beachbody friends. I always have people to talk to when I am having a rough day, and a few friends (you know who you are) have really stepped up these past few months to be there for me.
  4. My Beachbody family - I have met so many wonderful people in these past five months. I have made some life-long friendships with people that I've never even met. The people that I surround myself with while doing this business are so caring, and would do anything for me. Everyone I have met...other coaches and my customers, have changed my life and myself for the better. They make me so thankful!!!
  5. My education - I am extremely grateful for all I have accomplished with my schooling since having my son. I finished my Bachelors, my Masters, am currently working on my Personal Training certificate, and have plans to eventually earn a Master's in nutrition, and a PhD (what in is TBD).
  6. Beachbody - I am thankful to Sarah Murphy, Barbie Decker, Tonda Walls, Domari Dickinson, April Ashford, Chalene Johnson, Tony Horton, Larry Zimberg, Carl Daikeler, and my team of coaches and customers. Without them I wouldn't love what I do and I wouldn't be in the shape that I'm currently in. The accountability I feel towards each of these people means so much to me!!! All the personal development that I have done for myself and my business has made me a better person. I love how meaningful and purposeful my life has gotten since joining on with Team Beachbody. I can never repay any of these people for the difference they have made in my life. Thank you Team Beachbody!!!
I just wanted to share a little bit of what I'm thankful for this year, and I know 2011 will be my best year yet. I love my family, my friends, and my job...and wouldn't change a thing! If you want to change your life, send me a message. I am here to help, and guide all of the people I care about towards financial freedom and physical health.

My Fitness Struggles

I'm going to go all the way back to June 2006. I was about five months pregnant with my son when everything started to fall apart in my life. I was being abused (both mentally and physically) but my son's father. He would punch me in the stomach, push me against the wall by the neck, and break stuff in the home. Punching holes in the wall was common. All of this was due to alcoholism and an addiction to cocaine and marijuana. This had been going on a year, but I just didn't realize that I had to leave. After he punched me in my pregnant stomach for the first time, I left! I moved from Minneapolis to Lake Geneva, WI and moved back in with my parents. I had no job, no education, and was seriously depressed and anxious. Luckily the local vet clinic hired me as a receptionist, and I had my son. After he was born I went into post-partum depression and had no clue what I was going to do with my life. I ended up having a social worker that was horrible, so I decided that I should go to school to be a social worker. I was extremely interested in working in child protection, so I started school full-time January 2007. I was still battling depression, so I still wan't doing anything for myself. It took me until February 2008 to realize that I had more changes to make. I went to my first Weight Watchers meeting on February 9th 2008, my 28th Birthday...weighing in at 218 pounds...a size 18! I started eating right and attending Zumba. I love Zumba, and the weight was just falling off. By February 2009, I was down 40 pounds...178 pounds!!! I stopped going to meetings, and sparingly went to Zumba. School was getting stressful...it was almost time to start my internship and I was applying for graduate school. I went through a whole summer of 40 hours-per-week at an internship, grad school classes two nights a week, and working 20 hours-per-week at Starbucks. Besides all of this, I was trying to raise my 2-year-old son! The weight went back on...bringing me up to 185 pounds. In October 2009 I decided to sign-up to be a Beachbody coach. I started using Slim in 6...hated it. Then I turned to Turbo Jam. Thanks to Turbo Jam I lost 10 pounds...bringing me back to 175 pounds. Again, life got stressful, but this time I only let it rise 5 pounds to 180. I was so stressed out that I wasn't putting any work into my Beachbody business or myself. I finished grad school in June 2010, started coaching with Beachbody again, and got started on P90X. Soon TurboFire came out, and I got on that band-wagon, getting back down to 175. Throughout all this yo-yoing...my doctor told me I had to maintain, so I added ChaLEAN Extreme and Shakeology into the mix...getting down to my lowest weight of 169 pounds...a size 8!!! I have become very successful with my Beachbody business, and I am proud of what I have accomplished! I've received my certifications in Turbo Kick and Zumba, and am now completing my Personal Training certificate. I am still having personal issues with my weight...going between 170 and 176 pounds...hoping to finally reach that goal weight of 150 pounds by June 2011. I have an ultimate goal of doing fitness full-time, and that's also looking to be a reality by November 2012!!!

Blogging...quick like

Okay everybody...I don't have much time, but I wanted to do a quick blog! I have been having an amazing and relaxing weekend. I talked to a lot of people about our up-and-coming Virtual Home Party and more about coaching. This is honestly the best time to sign-up as a Beachbody coach because of the free sign-up...plus you can offer the same free sign-up to your new coaches.

I can't say it enough...Beachbody has changed my life! I am less depressed, healthy, fit, happy, and actually enjoying my job. I feel like I have the best of both worlds...being able to work as a social worker (which I love) and working in fitness (which I love even more)!!! This goal of doing fitness full-time in 2012 is really looking like a reality, a purchase of my first home in June is actually going to happen, and I have a wonderfully supportive family...life couldn't be any better!

Tomorrow starts my three-day work week and four-day weekend! I am so excited to actually have Thanksgiving off to be with my family...it will be an amazing weekend with those who I love!!! What are you doing for Thanksgiving? What are you thankful for? What are you looking forward to in this upcoming new year?

If you want some fitness advice or motivation...contact me! It's honestly my specialty...I'm here to help!!!

Life Priorities

I have been listening to Chalene Johnson's CarSmart for my personal development this week, and she talks a lot about life priorities. I have been thinking for the past few days about my top five life priorities, and I think I'm finally ready to write them down and share them with my closest "friends."

My Top Five Life Priorities
1. To be financially successful, and easily provide for my family.
2. To be at a point financially that I can stay home with my son.
3. Be a good mother for my son, providing everything he deserves.
4. Be physically fit and healthy, while motivating those closest to me to do the same.
5. Be available to my friends and family at a minutes notice.

What are your top five life priorities? You should seriously think about what your priorities are...it is a huge part of setting goals and accomplishing them. When I first thought about my priorities, I always thought that my son was my first priority. Then I listened to Chalene talk about priorities. She said, "Don't say your family is your priority when you are spending most of your time working or trying to build your business." I know that I was saying my son was my priority because if I didn't say that I was a bad mother...but, really I am being a good mother by putting my financial success first.

If I am financially successful and am able to stay home with him, I will eventually be putting him first. Isn't that what all single parents want? I have to put my financial success first so that I can provide, and stay home with him like I truly want to. Then I won't miss one soccer game, be able to take him to swimming lessons, be able to afford to take him to Disney World, buy a home that we can both enjoy. These are all things that I want, and can accomplish thanks to Beachbody. Before starting coaching for Beachbody, I never thought I would be financially free...but now I am seriously seeing it happening in the next two years. Don't you want financial freedom for yourself and your family like I do?

Success

I know that I've been scarce with my blogs, especially my video blogs...but I do have an excuse! I have been sick with a sinus infection since Friday...I have even taken that leap and am taking a sick day at work today. I have been laying in my bed, thinking about what success means to me. To me, I find success in being able to provide for my family. I don't feel that I am at that point yet. True...the Beachbody business is going great, ad I love my career in child protection, but I consistently want more! I have a non-typical living situation as I am living with parents and my 4-year-old son. As a single parent, I think I always want more for myself and my son. I want to be able to buy my first home, I want to go one week without having to put either groceries or gas on my credit card. It is true that I now have a fairly well paying job, but I was so in the hole when I began that I haven't been able to dig myself out yet.

I mostly wanted to talk about my ultimate goal in life, and share it with my friends. My ultimate goal is for Beachbody to help me obtain the ability to stay at home with my son. I want to be well-off financially, have the ability to purchase a home and new car, and pay off all of my debt. I want to be able to provide for my son what I had growing up. My Beachbody business is going well, and if it continues in this direction I should be able to quit my job November 2012...making more money in one year than I've made in my whole lifetime.

Beachbody is an amazing company that already has twelve millionaires, with the hope of having many more. CEO, Carl Daikeler, wants all of his coaches to succeed. This is why he has implemented free sign-up to any new coach that signs up between now and December 31st...but why wait? I want to have all of my new coaches trained and at the Emerald rank before the January rush starts. Wouldn't you much rather know how to run you business successfully and take advantage of the huge influx of customers we are going to get with the new year? I know a lot of people that don't want to start their new exercise regime until the new year, but why are you waiting? If you sign-up to be a coach today, you can take advantage of the 25% discount on Shakeology and workout programs. Why not buy a new workout program for your loved one for Christmas? Again...why are you waiting?

This business is changing lives. It has changed my life into a life that is so much better!!! I now have self-confidence, have no problem talking to strangers about what Beachbody has done for me. I love to share why I got into this business, and I just want to help others to loose weight and change lives. I am a social worker, so I feel that my calling in life is to help people. Why not help someone save their own life by loosing that weight that is killing them every single day. I love all of my coaches and customers, and honestly know them all individually. I have met so many great people, and am changing lives every day. Please contact me about how you can change not only your life, but the life of others. Don't wait until the end of the year...start now!!!

Beachbody Goals for 2010

My goals for this week are to sign one more coach, and help one of my coaches sign a coach. I also intend to connect with each of my coaches once this week, and I'm totally on track with that.

For the month of November I am going to sign a total of four of my own coaches, and get four of my coaches to Emerald...hence, making me Diamond! I'm also working on following up with my current coaches to get them all active. I am going to continue with the Game Plan and attempt to do one Team Call a month directly with my downline.

By the end of the year I am going to have 10 of my coaches to Emerald, have a total of 20 personally sponsored coaches, and be on my way to one-star diamond by Summit. I also plan on loosing 15 more pounds in the next two months, making me 10 pounds from my goal. I am going to stick with my P90X/ChaLEAN Extreme/TurboFire hybrid and work on my Turbo Kick certification so I can start teaching in January.

My long-term goal is to be able to quit my full-time job November 2012...two years from now!

My exercise regime...and my health

I've been working hard on my 101 Goals, and it's tough! I've written about 20 goals so far...still working on them!!! I've had a crazy weekend, and I've had to deal with some health issues this weekend.

I went to a TurboKick certification yesterday, and it was AMAZING!!! I burned about 2,500 calories, sweated gallons, and learned so much!!! After the certification I was feeling pretty horrible. I had an extreme migraine, fever, and stomach cramps. I tried to get through dinner at the Olive Garden with my boyfriend, but I started to feel worse and worse. As I was driving home I felt so bad that I actually had to call my parents so they could meet me and drive me home. When I got home I took a quick shower, some meds, and was in bed by 9:00...I slept this morning until 10:00...feeling much better.

Even though I was feeling better today, I had to skip my Yoga X this morning. I did jump on the scale this morning, and I lost another 1.2 pounds!!! That means I've lost almost 3 pounds in less than two weeks of P90X...amazing stuff!!! Since my P90X schedule is slightly off I'm going to restart Week 2 of P90X on Thursday. Tomorrow I am going to do TurboKick Round 41, Tuesday I am going to do Kenpo X, and then Thursday I'm going back to starting Week 2 with Core Synergistics. I am hoping to loose a total of 10 pounds this round of P90X and loose tons of inches! Then I'm moving on to a whole round of TurboFire/ChaLEAN Extreme hybrid...with a goal of loosing another 10 pounds. Then it will be time to try a round of INSANITY with my last 5 pounds and toning complete!!! :)

90 Days to Diamond and P90X - Week 3 almost complete!!!

I said that I would be blogging mid-week...and I guess this is mid-week...lol! It has been a good past seven days...I've signed three new coaches in just one week!!! Beachbody CEO, Carl Daikeler, wants to get us to 1 million coaches...and we're only at around 35,000. Therefore, we need to get a lot more coaches. If you are interested at all in signing up to be a coach...it is FREE COACH SIGN-UP right now!!! I am making my solemn vow to help every single coach that signs up under me get to Emerald within 30 days. Emerald means...customers referred to you through Beachbody, 25% commissions, and team cycle bonuses. This is an amazing opportunity! I got to Emerald within 30 days, so I know exactly how you can do it too. Did I mention...25% OFF BEACHBODY PRODUCTS including SHAKEOLOGY!!! I want to get my full team up and running before Christmas when the rush for Beachbody products happens. Message me for details...this is only for a limited time!!!

I'm also going to talk a little bit about P90X and my upcoming TurboKick certifiication tomorrow. Also, stay tuned for my video blog after the certification tomorrow...I thought I would mix up my Vlog location a little bit. P90X was great this week. I unfortunately took two rest days, but I've kept my new P90X weekly arrangement well, and will be back with Yoga X on Sunday. This week I did Plyometrics, Core Synergistics, Shoulders and Arms, and Ab Ripper X. I'm seriously looking forward to my Yoga on Sunday...especially after all the calories I plan on burning tomorrow during my TurboKick certification.

I am slightly nervous about my TurboKick certification tomorrow. I haven't done any Turbo in about a month...slightly scary. Luckily fellow Beachbody coach Kristina Sullins will be running the training...excited about that...maybe a little bit of Beachbody exposure with some logo wear in Chicago tomorrow. I did use part of this week's Beachbody check to purchase the P90X half-zip pullover that I've been wanting...excited for that piece of logo wear!!! Most people probably don't know this, but I've set a goal (maybe a two-three years from now) to be making enough money through Beachbody to quite my full-time job. I have my Zumba instructor certification, am working on my Personal Trainer certification, and will be getting my TurboKick instructor certification this week. A few more certifications in mind for the next few years...and then fitness will be my full-time "job!" That's the goal at least...and I plan on succeeding.

Another plan for tonight...continue working on 101 Goals that I learned from listening to Jack Canfield's "The Success Principles" on audio during my commute. My goal is to have them finalized by Sunday or Monday so I can put them in my next blog. That's it for this Friday night...everyone enjoy your weekend!!!

90 Days to Diamond and P90X - Week 2

Hey everyone!

I know this blog is one day late, but yesterday was full of tons of coach contacts...helping my team build!!! This past week of 90 Days to Diamond and my first week of P90X is complete, and I couldn't feel better about how everything is going. I signed two new coaches on Saturday, and they are going to be fantastically successful. I now have eight amazing coaches on my team, and I am super pumped to help each one of them become Emerald so that I can become a DIAMOND COACH!!! My goal is to do it within 30 days...let's say by Thanksgiving!!! I know that each one of them is capable of achieving this goal...I am totally a pround "parent" for all my coaches. I have been talking to a lot of my friends and family...trying to show them how much Beachbody has changed my life. It's all about changing lives...reversing the trend of obesity...helping America to get fit and live long lives!!!

There are so many great things going on with Beachbody! There is free sign-up for coaches now through December 31st. That means that the $39.95 start-up fee is waived...a great time to sign up for Shakeology and get $30 off!!! They are also reformulating P90X Recovery Formula and P90X Bars...taking the high fructose corn syrup out! Beachbody also plans on going global with coaches soon in Mexico...still working on Canada! P90X is going to be offered in Spanish, so how awesome is that!!! Beachbody CEO, Carl Daikeler, is looking to have more millionaires in this business than any other business...we are talking big global expansions. There is going to be more specifics of all these things talked about throughout the week, so keep your eye on my blog and my Facebook page for more details.

On to my person fitness...I just finished Week 1 of my second round of P90X. I must say I love Cardio X and Kenpo X...with Yoga closely behind it. I have always hated Core Synergistics...hate those push ups, and Legs and Back was tough for me. I forgot all about those wall squats that literally "kill" me and makes my legs shake. I must admit...I am a wimp and don't do the pull-ups with a bar. I use the modification of resistance bands, and I'm loving that part...it's just those darn wall squats!!! I am kind changing things up a little bit. I was unable to get and P90X in this morning, so tomorrow I am going to try the Plyometrics. The P90X Lean program doesn't call for Plyo, but I really want to give it a try. Then I am going to have my usual rest day on Wednesday, and start up on Week 2 on Thursday. In my first week I kind of had the workouts mixed up because I didn't have time for the 90 minutes of Yoga until the weekend. Starting each week on Thursday will be helpful so I can follow the schedule exactly...have my rest day in the middle or my week...and do my Yoga on Sundays. Sounds like a great idea to me!!!

Finally, I am going to talk about Celiacs Disease. Yes...I have a profound idea in my head that I have Celiacs Disease and this is due to the fact that I have such a horrible reaction to Gluten. This past week I completely cut Gluten and Dairy out of my diet, and it was the best week for me health wise that I have had in a long time. I was not bloated, did not have diarrhea, did not have headaches, and feel great! Once I have insurance again (December 1st) I am going to make an appointment with my doctor to have my celiac panel ran, and we'll just have to see what happens. I have been eating about 1900 calories per day and burning about 2200 calories per day, with just one cheat meal.

All this gluten-free, dairy-free, calorie counting, P90X stuff has earned me a weight loss this past week of...1.6 pounds!!! I am so excited!!! I am finally in the right track in every aspect of my life, and couldn't be happier. Due to all of the crazy Beachbody announcements I may be blogging an extra time this week...so you may hear from me sooner than usual. Follow my blog...follow my vlog...join my fan page on facebook...message me about coaching...I'm always here for you!!! BRING IT!!!

90 Days to Diamond - Week 1 Reflections and my own fitness journey

Hey everyone!

I know it's been a few weeks since I've blogged, but I have been pretty busy trying to fit in my full-time job, being a single mom, my workouts, and mentoring a quickly building team. On Monday I started doing 90 Days to Diamond with my Beachbody pal, Tonda. We are accountability partners, and since starting 90 Days to Diamond less than one week ago I have signed two new coaches. I am actually two personal coaches and two Emerald coaches away from being Diamond!!! I need to find two more leaders for my team, and two of the coaches I already have or the new coaches I sign have to get their own two coaches (becoming Emerald). Yeah...it's a little confusing, but I am going to work really hared to make sure that all six coaches that I have right now...Alex, Judy, Stewart, Sandra, Jose, and Ashley...are Emerald coaches within the next 30 days!!! That is my ultimate goal because I want to teach my team how to be successful...if they're successful, I'm successful!!! This is such a wonderful business that I want to share it with everyone!!!

I am also going to talk about my fitness journey today...share the frustrations I've had lately. I recently (on Monday actually) switched a Dairy-free Gluten-free diet. It has been going great, but I have been staying in the same place with my weight loss. I will be completely honest...for my first four weeks of my TurboFire-ChaLEAN Extreme hybrid I lost 10 pounds!!! I was starting to have a tough time getting double workouts in when I started my new job, so I switched back to doing the original TurboFire schedule. I just finished my third week, and have now gained 6 pounds! I am not going to completely blame TurboFire though because I have made other changes. I switched to a new job four weeks ago where I am sitting at a desk all day (not on my feet for 8 hours straight like I was at Starbucks). I also stopped tracking my calories. I think all of these factors have been impacting my weight loss, but I have a new plan as of Monday morning.

- continue with week 4 of TurboFire, but when there are short workouts under 30 minutes I will be adding in a ChaLEAN Extreme resistance workout to get in more weight lifting (I will workout 6 days/week)
- stick with my gluten-free dairy-free diet
- have one Shakeology for breakfast every day with no coffee
- count my calories every day with a goal of 1800 calories
- NO FAST FOOD, CANDY, or SODA whatsoever- besides doing my TurboFire in the mornings before work, I will get in a walk every evening
- still allow myself one cheat meal per week

***********************************************
If anyone is interested in joining a quickly growing team, and having personal assistance from me via telephone once a week...send me a message! I will help you reach Emerald in 30 days...that is my promise to you!!! Some great things are happening with Beachbody, and I want to share it all with you!!! View this video to learn more...

I also have Shakeology and P90X Recovery Formula samples if you are interested in trying it!!!

Summer of Success in Chicago...my new outlook on fitness

Okay fitness peeps...I was at the Summer of Success Tour in Chicago yesterday, and now have a new outlook on my Beachbody business. After hearing Carl, Mark, MJ, and Craig talk, I have realized that I have stopped thinking about my Beachbody business as a business. I have been putting aside all of the hard work that I was doing in July and the beginning of August that got me to Emerald in under two months. I started to think that other things were important...when really I should have been keeping Beachbody on my priority list. Yeah I'm busy, but am I too busy to help fight the obesity problems in the United States? Since I started my Beachbody business I have motivated so many people to get in shape and put themselves first. Why didn't I follow what I was preaching myself? I know that I have to take care of my family, but I also need to take care of myself. True, I have not become rich through Beachbody, and that might never happen, but why not try to help others while doing something I really love?

I love networking and meeting new people, especially through Facebook. I have met so many wonderful people, so why did I stop? After listening to so many wonderful and inspiring people talk yesterday, why am I not putting all of myself into this business? I have met some skeptical people that think that Beachbody is a "pyramid scheme," but how can it be a scheme when you make no money off of signing coaches. That's right...I only make money through retail sales. The funny thing is that I don't "sell." I recommend products that have worked for me. Whenever I hear about one of the people that I coach even loosing two pounds I feel great because that's two pounds they may not have lost without me motivating them and suggesting something to them that actually works.

Beachbody is the only fitness company that truly works. We are not just selling you fitness programs...we are giving you support and someone that will always be there for you. A good Beachbody coach isn't in it for the money. We are in it to help someone add ten years to their life, help someone loose those 50 pounds and keep it off, help them find something that will finally work, help keep someone accountable to themselves and their coach. I am back in this business full-force...not because I want to make more money, but because I want to help more people. It's so simple, and it took me a whole day in Chicago to realize that what Beachbody is doing is changing lives...building a network of 32,000 people that will always be there to help each other.

If you seriously want to loose weight, get healthy, and have support with you through every step of the way contact me. I want to help you to be happy with yourself and achieve great things in every possible way!!!

Change of Plans!!!

Okay fitness peeps...it's been awhile since I've blogged, and sticking to my exercise regime has been tough since I have been working 9 hours a day with over two hours of commuting. I have decided I'm gonna ditch the hybrid and just do TurboFire. After finishing this round of TurboFire I am going to do a round of ChaLEAN Extreme, a round of INSANITY, a round of P90X, and then go back to the beginning of the rotation. I just don't have time to do double workouts in the morning. Starting on Monday I'm back to Day One of TurboFire.

My eating has been off track too. I have not been tracking anything at all, and that is going to change on Monday. I am going to be back to eating 2200 calories per day with Shakeology for breakfast, a healthy lunch and dinner, and two small snacks per day. I am only going to have one cup of coffee per day and no soda. I've got back into my 170's, so I need to get down to my goal of 155 pounds by February 2011. I will do this, and I will get back into my routine. Now I am going to enjoy the rest of the weekend, and start fresh on Monday!!!

Do you have any new goals? What's working for you? What's not?

Until Monday...

Setting Goals

As many of you know, I have been going through a lot of changes with my career, health, and personal life. I have been spending a lot of time lately with my family and friends...not devoting as much time to my Beachbody business or my own personal workouts. I have one more week at Starbucks, and then I will be starting a new job. I will working as an Initial Assessment Worker in Milwaukee for the Bureau. This is a job that I have wanted to do since starting school for Social Work, so I'm super excited to be starting this new chapter of my life. I have finally gotten my eating and weight into a healthy range, and I'm super psyched about that! I am feeling good, looking good, and lengthening my life line with my new healthy life style. I also have a wonderful boyfriend that makes me incredibly happy and has been super supportive for the past three months (today is our three month anniversary)!!! Everything seems to be on track, so I thought I should set some goals for myself, and why not tell them to the whole entire Facebook community as well as the fans of my blog? I think that's a great idea!!! :)

My Goals:
- I will consume 2,200 calories and burn 2,700 calories per day.
     - I will allow myself one cheat meal a week that I will not be logging.
- I will workout 5-6 days a week following hybrid workouts that I have developed with TurboFire, ChaLEAN Extreme, P90X, and INSANITY.
     - These workouts will be done in the morning (5am Monday-Friday and 7am Saturday)
- I will devote one hour each night to my Beachbody business, planning to become a Diamond Coach by June 2011 (Summit).
     - Sundays will be devoted to family, so that will be my day off from both of my jobs (including working out).
- I am currently at a weight of 169.8 pounds, with a goal of 150 pounds by February 9th 2011 (my 31st birthday).
- I will be running a "Get Fit Challenge" every three months.
     - They will last 10 weeks, and the prizes will change.
- I do currently live with my parents, so I have a plan to move out March 1st 2011 with the location TBD based on what office my job ends up being located in.
- My ultimate goal is that by Feburary 2012 I will purchase my first house, so that my son will have a stable home before he starts kindergarten.

These are my goals...what are yours?

Share your goals with me, and I will help you stay accountable...join my Get Fit Challenge...join my team with FREE coaching!!!

I honestly want to help all of my Facebook "friends" to get fit and find a plan that works for them!!! Message me... :)

Coach Erin's "Getting Fit" Challenge

I have a lot of Beachbody colleagues that are doing getting fit challenges, so I decided to start my own. I've been wanting to run a contest like this for awhile, but hadn't put a lot of thought into it. I will be posting this Note on my fitness page and blog, as well as posting an event page on Facebook. The contest will run every ten weeks, with the first one starting the day after Labor Day, September 7th and running through Monday, November 15th. Here's how it works...

On Tuesday, September 8th all contestants will post a "before" picture along with their weight and measurements. You can use any combination of workout or diet to achieve the best results you possibly can in ten weeks. When the ten weeks are up (on Monday, November 15th) all contestants will post an "after" picture along with their weight and measurements again. I will be picking the winner based on the percentage of weight and inches lost. There will also be voting done by fellow contestants to determine "group favorite" based on the before and after picture alone. Here are the prizes you can win!

Weight and Inches lost:
1st Place: a free workout DVD and P90X shirt
2nd Place: a free Shakeology shirt and three days worth of Shakeology
3rd Place: a free P90X water bottle

Group Favorite:
a free workout DVD and three days of Shakeology

I will run this contest every ten weeks, so let's have some fun with it! Invite everyone you know, and let's help motivate each other to be fit and stay healthy.

I have been working late every night at work, working out hard core, and spending a lot of time with my son. I have not been putting as much time into my Facebook networking, but took about two hours on Tuesday to catch up with everyone, and make sure that y'all were getting what you needed from me. If there is something else that I should be doing for you that I'm not...please let me know!!! I'm still new to this business, so any tips that could come my way would be greatly appreciated!

My Story

I have seen a lot of people posting "their story" lately, so I decided that I should do the same thing. I am usually not that direct with my personal life, but this is more of a "fitness" version of my story...

I had my son in November 2006...a 9 pound 4 oz baby boy. While I was pregnant I left my son's father due to some physical and emotional abuse. I moved back in with my parents...from Minnesota to Wisconsin in June of 2006. I had left a fairly good job on bad terms, and was pretty much moving somewhere where there were no jobs and I had no friends anymore. I moved in with my parents at the age of 27, and tried to figure out what to do. While I was waiting to give birth I was very depressed because I could not find a job at all. I would eat to sooth my pain, so I gained about 50 pounds when I was pregnant. I did eventually end up finding a job at the local Animal Hospital as a receptionist, but I knew that I had to do something after having my son.

In January 2007, I went back to school at UW-Whitewater for Social Work. I was still very stressed out by being a single mother, working, and then adding school to the mix. My weight was out of control, and I was over 200 pounds. I was so busy with school, that I still didn't have the time to do anything about my weight loss, and I think I even gained more weight. The only time I ever weighed in was when I went to the doctor, and I was always so embarrased. I was thought to maybe have post-partum depression because of my lack of career, boyfriend, friends, and my weight. I went on some anti-depressants, started going to a support group for battered women, and started seeing a counselor. I worked a good year on my schooling, being a good mother, and myself. I also started a new job in July 2007 at Starbucks. I was finally paying for my own insurance, starting to make friends, and doing well as a new mother with a lot of help from my family.

For my 28th Birthday in February of 2008, I decided to start Weight Watchers. I went to my first meeting the day after my birthday, February 10th 2008. I weighed in at a whooping 218 pounds (size 16), and vowed to get healthy! I set a goal weight of 150 pounds, and started to take Zumba exercise classes three days a week. I did feel guilty taking the time for me, but I realized it was better for my son in the long-run to have a healthy mom that lives a long life. In one year on Weight Watchers, I got down to 172 pounds (size 8). I was so happy!!! I had even gotten my depression under control, and went off the anti-depressants.

In the summer of 2009 I started graduate school, and was doing a full-time internship at the same time. This is when my exercising and eating go put on the sidelines because I was so very busy. I knew that I was gaining some of the weight back because I had to go back to the store and buy size 10 and 12 pants again... :(

In October 2009 I decided to start with Team Beachbody, and purchased Slim in 6. I knew right away that I didn't like it, so I became a Beachbody workout addict. I purchased Turbo Jam, ChaLEAN Extreme, Hip Hop Abs, Yoga Booty Ballet, 10 Minute Trainer, and Power 90. I started Turbo Jam right away and loved it...getting back into my size 8's!!! I was slightly afraid of the scale because my doctor kept warning me about yo-yoing my weight loss and gain so much. She talked about Diabetes and heart disease, so I was scared!!! I was happy to be back in a size 8, so I layed off on the working out again around Christmas...grad school was starting to get stressful again. Again...I ballooned up to a size 12!!!

I started using Power 90 and 10 Minute Trainer sparingly in February 2010 and got back down to a size 10. I wasn't following the meal plan, so I wasn't able to get back into my size 8's...plus I wasn't following Tony's plan 100%. I kept saying in my mind..."After I'm done with school I am going to pick one workout program and stick to it!"

I finished my MSW program and my internship at the beginning of June 2010, and I decided to start coaching again. I purchased the Diamond Pack, and was very happy to have P90X from the package. I started P90X the week after I ended my internship. It was hard, but I knew it was working...I was back in my size 8's!!! :)

Near the end of June I heard about the new TurboFire, and I was so excited! I ordered it, and once I had it I decided I was going to do it full out! I weighed myself...weighed in at 179 pounds...measured myself, and took "before" photos. I started TurboFire, and absolutly loved it!!! I did about five week of that program on it's own, and then I added ChaLEAN Extreme. I developed my own hybrid and am loving it. I am now down to 169.6 pounds, and feeling wonderful. My doctor saw me two weeks ago for a check-up, and she was asking me about Beachbody because of my fantastic results!
